We guarantee access to and the exercising of rights under conditions of fairness, security and dignity
Relief Winds implements human rights protection programs aimed at vulnerable groups: children, adolescents, women, the elderly, indigenous populations, people with disabilities, AIDS sufferers, refugees and displaced persons.
We provide psychosocial support services and ensure a multi-sector response that always places the individual at the centre of our interventions. In particular, we ensure psychosocial support to the survivors of gender-based violence and to children associated with armed groups; we support access to food assistance and to the livelihood opportunities for groups suffering discrimination, as well as mitigating their exposure to new threats. In response to the increase in socio-political and environmental crises, we provide protection to vast numbers of displaced persons and refugees in the areas in which we operate, providing safe refuges, psychosocial, hygiene and health services and guaranteeing access to safe food and water.
In order to re-establish community mechanisms for preventing and eliminating wrongdoings, we support the mobilization and involvement of the community for the benefit of the most vulnerable groups. We also promote the empowerment of groups suffering discrimination, providing political, economic and social instruments enabling them to improve their life conditions and be recognized as citizens with equal rights. Lastly, Relief Winds supports the protection of the indigenous populations, promoting the acknowledgement of their identity and improving their access to basic services, particularly in the areas of education and health.
