Relief Winds’ Covid-19 Mitigation plan:
In Providing timely humanitarian relief in emergencies to help people whose lives have been threatened by the Covid-19 pandemic, conflicts and natural disasters and in performing the Services, Relief Winds staff will comply in full and without delay with all rules and regulations that are issued by national and local governments regarding quarantine, public health, and/or the holding of public events and gatherings. In case of failure to comply, Relief Winds may cancel or terminate the Agreement in accordance with the provisions detailed in the section “Delays and Termination” of this Agreement of the staff agreement paper. In addition, Relief Winds may not arrange any international travel for individuals that are not under their employment, without the prior notification and written clearance from the Management to assess the traveler, reason for travel, and the origin and destination of the journey.
In light of the above, it is mandatory minimum requirement for;
- Relief Winds in collaboration with district/local government authorities to conduct an Awareness Campaigns to sensitize its staff, local authorities, traders and community members on the COVID-19 pandemic this includes emphasis on infection prevention and control.
- Relief Winds to maintain proper hygiene amongst staff and target community members by ensuring the best practices are put in place such as frequent hand washing by beneficiary using clean water and soap making sure hands are rubbed with soap for at least 20 seconds paying attention to the palm, between fingers and nails , avoid touching Mouth, Nose and Eyes at all times and practicing respiratory hygiene by covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or into a clean piece of tissue paper (when sneezing or coughing ) which should be properly disposed thereafter, a clean handkerchief can also be used but should be washed thoroughly after use.
- Relief Winds to ensure they provide a washing stations at strategic locations (soap; liquid or solid and water) to be used by the community and at all training venues.
- Relief Winds to provide personal protective equipment to staff directly always involved in activity implementation such as 3 ply face masks and hand sanitizers to be used especially when holding forums in the community as well as training events.
- Relief Winds to advocate the use of personal protective equipment to beneficiaries directly involved in activity implementation such as fabric face masks to be used at all times especially when involved in community mobilizations.
- Relief Winds to practice and maintain social distancing in line with the guidelines especially during community mobilization and registration. Note that any contact with an infected individual puts you at risk of contracting the virus which has no treatment or vaccine at the moment. Avoid meetings/ registrations in closed spaces such as rooms with more than 10 persons in order to avoid spread of COVID -19.
- Commonly touched surfaces (tablets, computers, door handles, water tabs, seats, tables) should be cleaned regularly as they are a common medium that can harbor the virus and facilitate rapid spread when touched with bare hands.
- Avoid travelling in congested vehicles whether public or private with closed windows and or AC on, only move or travel when it is very necessary
- Reduced contact or one-to-one meeting at close range (less than 2 meters between you and the next individual) including training, where necessary, to avoid spread of COVID-19.
- Please encourage your staff and beneficiaries to seek early and immediate medical care/ assistance in case they display any symptoms such as fever, persistent coughs and difficulty in breathing and also by reporting to the relevant health agencies nearby as well as making referrals to the appropriate agencies for further assistance in case of any suspicious case (particularly organization staff and targeted beneficiaries) should be reported to the relevant authorities in Somalia immediately.
